Youth Voices Meet in Alicante: GivEUvoice Youth Exchange in Spain

This week Alicante becomes a meeting point for young people from across Europe as the GivEUvoice Youth Exchangebrings together participants from seven different countries. From 10 to 16 March, young people are sharing experiences, ideas and perspectives on youth participation, active citizenship and the role of young voices in shaping more inclusive communities.

Throughout the week, participants take part in a dynamic programme of non-formal learning activities, workshops and group discussions designed to explore how young people can become more involved in decision-making processes in their communities. Through interactive sessions, creative exercises and collaborative work, the exchange encourages participants to reflect on the meaning of participation and how youth voices can influence social change.

The programme also includes outdoor and experiential activities in Alicante, allowing participants to connect with the city while strengthening teamwork and intercultural dialogue. One of the highlights of the week is a Photo Safari across Alicante, where groups explore key places in the city and capture images representing youth energy, diversity, cooperation and active citizenship.

Beyond the activities, the exchange creates a valuable space for intercultural learning and friendship, where young people discover different realities, share their cultures and build connections that go beyond borders.

The youth exchange is part of the GivEUvoice project, which aims to empower young people, especially those from rural areas, to express their ideas, participate actively in society and contribute to shaping the future of Europe.

During the youth exchange in Alicante, participants took part in a Photo Safari, exploring the city while completing creative photo challenges in teams. From the Castle of Santa Bárbara to the beach, marina and Mushroom Street, they captured images representing youth energy, diversity, cooperation and active citizenship. The activity ended with each group creating a collage of their best photos, sharing their visual story of youth voices in Europe.

Youth Exchange in Corsica

The GivEUvoice Youth Exchange took place from November 17th to 23rd in Bastia, France, bringing together young people from across Europe to strengthen their participation in democratic life. Throughout the week, participants explored Corsica’s political and civic landscape, met regional and local decision-makers, and engaged in interactive workshops designed to amplify youth voices.

Highlights of the exchange included meetings with the President of the Executive Council of Corsica, members of the Assembly, and representatives of key democratic institutions. Through open dialogue, participants gained first-hand insight into how regional governance works and how young people can influence policy. Creative labs, debates, and hands-on Erasmus+ project workshops further empowered them to transform their ideas into meaningful initiatives.

The Youth Exchange also offered opportunities for cultural exploration, from guided tours of Bastia to collaborative activities such as the Photo Hunt challenge. These experiences fostered teamwork, intercultural understanding, and strong connections among the participants.

GivEUvoice continues to support young people, especially from peripheral and remote regions, by creating spaces for learning, expression, and engagement. Through this exchange in Corsica, the project once again highlighted the power of youth participation and the importance of building an inclusive and active European community.

Transnational Partners Meeting of GivEUvoice

The Mid-term Transnational Partners Meeting of the GivEUvoice project took place on November 21st and 22nd in Bastia, France. Over the two working days, partners had the chance not only to review the progress of the project and assess completed milestones, but also to exchange ideas, refine upcoming activities, and coordinate the next phase of implementation.

A particularly meaningful moment of the meeting was the opportunity to meet with the young people from peripheral regions who participated in the Youth Exchange in Corsica. Their experiences, reflections, and proposals offered valuable insight into the challenges faced by youth in less central areas, reinforcing the importance and relevance of the project’s mission.

The Consortium, comprising organisations from Greece, Cyprus, North Macedonia, Spain, France, Slovakia, and Poland, continues to collaborate closely to empower young people in peripheral and remote regions across Europe. By combining diverse expertise and local perspectives, the partnership ensures that the project responds to real needs and creates sustainable impact.

Through the GivEUvoice project, we remain committed to uplifting young voices, strengthening their participation in democratic life, and fostering meaningful opportunities for learning, dialogue, and cooperation. Together, we are building bridges of engagement, inspiration, and inclusion across Europe.

European Youth Campus (EYC)

The European Youth Campus (EYC) brought together passionate young Europeans for an inspiring and transformative gathering held from July 23 to July 28. This vibrant initiative created a space where youth from across the continent could learn, debate, and connect, embodying the true spirit of active citizenship and European cooperation.

Throughout the week, participants engaged in an exciting lineup of activities designed to strengthen their advocacy skills and deepen their understanding of European policymaking. The EYC kicked off with introductions and team-building sessions, setting the stage for a week full of collaboration and creativity.

Workshops on advocacy and EU policy, debate techniques, and panel discussions encouraged participants to explore how young people can shape the future of Europe through active engagement.  As the EYC concluded, the young changemakers left with new knowledge, stronger connections, and renewed motivation to play an active role in their communities and in Europe’s democratic life.

The European Youth Campus truly stands as a celebration of youth energy, creativity, and commitment, an example of how collaboration and dialogue can build a stronger, more inclusive Europe.

Kick-off Meeting of GivEUvoice

The Kick-off Meeting of the GivEUvoice project took place in the picturesque town of Kwidzyn, Poland, marking an inspiring start to this ambitious initiative! Funded by Erasmus+, the project is designed to amplify the voices of young people in semi-urban, semi-rural, and rural areas across Europe, ensuring their perspectives and ideas are central to local and European policymaking.

Drawing inspiration from Ursula von der Leyen's call to revitalize European democracy, GivEUvoice tackles the disconnect often felt by young people in regional areas. The project’s mission is to create both physical and digital spaces where youth can connect, collaborate, and actively shape their communities while promoting sustainability and political engagement.

Lastly, GivEUvoice bring together a dynamic, passionate group of partners from Greece, including United Societies of Balkans (USB) as the lead partner and the Municipality of Oraiokastro, Germany with Stadt Detmold, France with Coopérative d'Initiative Jeunes, Slovakia with Youth for Youth, Poland with Akwedukt Association, Spain with AC Amics, Cyprus with Social Policy and Action Organization, and North Macedonia with Sfera International.
